SAB International Transfer: Fees, Payout and Limits

By Last reviewed 15 October 2026

SAB (Saudi Awwal Bank, formerly SABB) charges at most SAR 40 for an online transfer to a bank outside Saudi Arabia, and SAR 75 for the same transfer at a branch. It lists SAR 15 for a narrower online transfer in the destination currency to a bank in six named countries. VAT is added to these charges. Moving money between your own linked SAB and HSBC accounts is a different service.

The tariff footnotes the SAR 40 as a “maximum fees amount”. The SAR 15 row applies only to an online transfer in the destination country’s currency to a bank in those six countries, so it is not the price of every transfer there. Check the final exchange rate, VAT and recipient amount.

Countries and payout methods

SAB’s international remittance page lists account deposit, cash pickup through partners, selected mobile wallets and an international Visa card. It does not identify every wallet or map every method to every country.

The six countries in the tariff qualify for the special online bank-transfer row. Global View and Global Transfers separately lists countries for linked HSBC accounts; it is not a worldwide beneficiary list.

Limits and delivery

Global View and Global Transfers allows up to SAR 1,000,000 per day between your linked SAB and HSBC accounts. A receiving country may impose its own inbound cap. This is not SAB’s published cap for transfers to unrelated beneficiaries.

SAB describes international Visa card transfers as instant. We found no single delivery promise for account, cash and wallet payouts.

How to send in the app

  1. Log in to SAB Mobile or SAB Online.
  2. Under Money Transfer add a beneficiary and choose International transfer to Account for a bank deposit.
  3. Activate the beneficiary through SAB’s channels, then select Transfer.
  4. Check the fee, rate and recipient details, send, and track the transaction in the app or online.

Cash, wallet and Visa card are separate payout choices on SAB’s page. Select the method that matches your recipient.

Receiving and when SAB suits you

For an inbound transfer to a SAB account, ask the bank for your account and SWIFT instructions. The sending page does not give a complete inbound checklist.

SAB may suit a recipient whose payout method is offered, or someone moving their own money between linked SAB and HSBC accounts. Sending from a branch costs SAR 75. To compare a transfer to Egypt, look past the listed fee and compare the final amount received. See our Saudi Arabia to Egypt guide.

Frequently asked questions

What does SAB charge to send to a foreign bank?

No. The tariff restricts that row to an online bank transfer in the destination currency. Check your transaction quote.

What is SAB’s international transfer limit?

The published SAR 1,000,000 daily limit is for transfers between your own linked SAB and HSBC accounts, not a general limit for other beneficiaries.
