Can you use Wise to send money from the UAE to Pakistan?

By Last reviewed 2 October 2026

Not for ordinary transfers paid in dirhams, according to Wise’s own send page and AED guidance. Wise’s UAE page for Pakistan says: “We’re working hard to allow customers to send PKR to Pakistan from the United Arab Emirates - but we’re not quite there yet,” and offers a waiting list. Its Help Centre adds that it “can’t support transfers from AED”, except when paying from money already held in a Wise account. Some other Wise pages suggest sending from AED is available, so Wise’s information conflicts; GulfSend does not rank Wise for AED transfers until a working AED-funded route is independently verified.

Wise does hold UAE Central Bank licences, announced in October 2025, but that is not the same as a launched AED service. Below are UAE routes to Pakistan whose fees and limits are published by the bank or provider itself, so you can compare like for like.

What Wise says right now

  • Wise’s UAE send-money and Pakistan route pages show a waiting list rather than a transfer form.
  • Its Help Centre says paying for transfers with AED is not supported, except from a Wise account balance.
  • Its UAE account page says the UAE “doesn’t have the Wise account yet”.

Wise has not announced a launch date for AED transfers. A 2025 Wise update aimed to let UAE residents send money in early 2026, and its UAE send pages still show a waiting list. See our Wise UAE review for what Wise’s pages say and where they conflict.

UAE routes to Pakistan with published fees

These are what each bank or provider publishes for Pakistan. A zero transfer fee is not the whole cost: the exchange rate the provider applies also decides how many rupees arrive.

RAKBANK RAKMoneyTransferNil for account transfer and cash pickup; 0 to a walletRAKBANK does not publish Pakistan delivery times or limits
RemitlyShown in the app before you payUp to 110,000 AED per transaction from the UAE; paid by card

Licensed exchange houses such as LuLu Exchange and Al Ansari Exchange also send to Pakistan; ask for the fee, rate and amount received before you pay.

How to choose between them

  • Where the money must land. Bank account, cash pickup or a mobile wallet such as JazzCash: check that the route offers it.
  • What the recipient receives. Compare the PKR amount after fees for the same send amount, not the fee alone.
  • Limits. Large amounts may need a route with a higher published limit, or more than one day.
  • Whether you already bank there. The bank routes above are for that bank’s own customers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send money from the UAE to Pakistan with Wise?

Not for ordinary transfers paid in dirhams, according to Wise’s own pages: its UAE-to-Pakistan page shows a waiting list, and its Help Centre says paying with AED is not supported except from a Wise account balance. Some other Wise pages suggest otherwise, so check Wise’s app or site before relying on it.

When will Wise launch AED transfers in the UAE?

Wise has not announced a launch date. It described its October 2025 UAE licences as a first step to bring its services to UAE customers in the future, and a 2025 Wise update aimed for early 2026; its UAE send pages still show a waiting list.

Which UAE banks send money to Pakistan with no transfer fee?

Emirates NBD DirectRemit, FAB instant transfers and RAKBANK RAKMoneyTransfer publish a zero or nil fee to Pakistan, and Mashreq Quick Remit publishes a zero fee as a limited-period offer. The exchange rate still affects the amount that arrives.

Does a zero-fee transfer mean it is free?

Not necessarily. The provider’s exchange rate also decides how many rupees arrive, so compare the amount received for the same send amount.
