These two solve different problems. Al Ansari is a physical exchange house with 230+ branches — you can walk in, hand over cash, and have someone collect cash on the other end. Wise has no branches at all; everything happens in the app, and the money only ever moves bank-to-bank.
The pricing philosophy differs just as much. Al Ansari charges a flat fee (roughly AED 15-30 on popular corridors) with the exchange-rate margin layered on top and widening on less common currencies. Wise skips the margin entirely — you get the real mid-market rate — and charges an explicit percentage fee instead, typically 0.4-1.5% depending on the currency.
